My name is Sarah and I first picked up a tarot deck in 2003.
All these years later, I don't even remember what specifically sparked my interest or drew me to it; all I can remember is that I knew it was something I wanted to learn, understand, and work with.
Through the years tarot has helped me answer life's questions, navigate its challenges, and grow and develop in my self-understanding. I believe it is a powerful and profound spiritual and psychological tool and sharing it with others is one of my true passions and joys in life.
My business name is loosely based on a literal translation of my surname. Sunset as a time of day corresponds with the direction of west and the element of water, while “bough” evokes the wands suit in tarot which is associated with the element of fire. Thus, the name unifies the elements of water and fire, the concepts of emotion and passion/inspiration.
On the other side of the screen I live in the Minneapolis/St. Paul area with two goofy cats named after great heroines of kidlit (Harriet Welsch and Matilda Wormwood). When not slinging cards you will probably find me singing, crafting, hiking in the woods, or blissfully absorbing a fantasy novel or a good binge-watch.
